Preparation for the Event in Beijing

The guests will soon arrive to the Embassy and we have been preparing all morning to set up a cosy Mackmyra corner!

The backdrop

Robert, who also used to work as a bartender, taught us how to do the perfect Mackirinhia. It's 37 degrees here so there will be a lot of fresh, cold Mackirhinias to serve we think.

Bartender skills

and of course, a sip!

TV interview and Tasting at Brandy Library in NYC!

Yesterday I went to Tribeca in Manhattan for a TV interview and open tasting at the probably best whisky bar in NY – Brandy Library. If you are a whisky lover or prefer any other brown spirit you have to visit the place. And from now on you can order Swedish Whisky in the bar.

Pea soup dinner with Ärtans Vänner at Roger Smith Hotel in NYC!

Last Thursday I was invited by the gentlemen member group called Ärtans Vänner to join them for their monthly pea soup dinner. So we swapped the traditional punsch (that you normally drink to pea soup) against Swedish Whisky. So after a presentation of Mackmyra the dinner and party good began (including “snappsvisor”).  My brother that visited me for the weekend also joined the dinner.

Mackirinhas at Roger Smith Hotel in NYC!

Last night I served Mackmyra drinks (Mackirinahs) at a blog conference and in a jewelry pop-up shop at Roger Smith Hotel in NYC. http://www.rogersmith.com/

The people were amazed of the whisky and the drink so actually the bottles run out even before the event was over.

Spain

We are now back in Sweden after a short journey to Spain...

We arrived to Barcelona Tuesday evening and had the first meeting in Girona the day after. Thanks to our meeting partner we also had the opportunity to visit a liquor store which had a huge whisky range, everything from the local whisky D.Y.C to some rare bottles from Japan.
We then went back to Barcelona and one more meeting and after that the train to Madrid...

Yesterday we, along other meetings, met with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and visit a beautiful store that had a much smaller but more exclusive and well chosen range of whisky. I love when stores have tasting areas, events and this one even had a bar! It's more pleasure and feeling in it that way!

We ended the night on a Swedish bar called "La Sueca" but unfortunately the owners weren’t there, it had been interesting to talk to them and learn a little more about Spanish drinking culture.

I also have to tell you about our Spanish hero. Late Thursday, we sat outside a bar when a vagrant suddenly came up to us, mumbling something and then disappeared very quickly. The waiter rushed to us and asked if we have had anything of value on the table. We said we didn't think so but the waiter ran after the guy anyway and later returned with one of our cell phones... Mucha gracias senor!

Saludos!
